Chicago Bulls, Game Presentation CoordinatorShare your story
With experience comes knowledge, with knowledge, comes respect, and with respect comes trust. When people trust you, you’ll be the first person they think of when they need help with something. Always look to help others and be a team player.
For Michael Vigan, the Chicago Bulls are a team and organization that he has idolized his entire life. You could say that it would be a dream come true for Michael to have the opportunity to work for them today. However, getting to this point in his career did not come without hard work or perseverance. Michael strongly believes that the knowledge and experiences he gained as a Business Administration student at Robert Morris University now serves as the foundation for everything he does in his job today. As the Game Presentation Coordinator for the Chicago Bulls organization, problem solving, teamwork, and reaching performance goals are critical skills he uses on a daily basis. Additionally, he credits networking and relationship building as having played a role in his success with the Chicago Bulls.
As an RMU alumni mentor, Michael often provides RMU students with this advice based on his own experiences: “Do what you can to gain experience. There are no handouts in Sports and Entertainment because there are so few jobs with so many interested in the field. With experience comes knowledge, with knowledge, comes respect, and with respect comes trust. When people trust you, you’ll be the first person they think of when they need help with something. Always look to help others and be a team player.”
Outside of work, Michael not only spends his free time mentoring RMU students, but he also volunteers at Lurie Children’s Hospital and Pacific Garden Mission. Along side his family, he has also given back to the Ronald McDonald House in Chicago. Overtime, the Vigan family has developed a strong relationship with RMH staff and volunteers and look forward to continuing their efforts with the organization for years to come.
